About Sue (a.k.a. Momma Sue)

Sue is a lifelong learner, educator, and creative force who believes it’s never too late to grow, dream, and reinvent yourself. As a psychology professor with decades of experience, she’s dedicated her career to helping people better understand themselves and the world around them. Her passion for human connection runs deep—and it shows in every classroom discussion, every lecture, and every story she tells.

Outside the classroom, Sue is also a singer in a high-energy band, finding pure joy in harmonizing with her bandmates and sharing music that brings people together. Singing has been a lifelong love, and performing keeps her grounded, inspired, and in the moment.

Now, adding “children’s author” to her journey, Sue has launched a new chapter with The Brave Kids Club: Big Dreams, Bright Hearts—a picture book written straight from the heart. Her goal is to uplift young readers with messages of confidence, kindness, and courage, and to encourage meaningful connection between children and the adults who love them.

Known affectionately as Momma Sue, she brings warmth, wisdom, and authenticity to everything she does—from her college lectures to the music stage to the pages of her books.
